About

Ishan Kishan, a dynamic left-handed wicketkeeper-batter from Jharkhand, is known for his fearless and explosive batting. He made his first-class debut at just 16 in 2014 and quickly showcased his talent, registering a century and five fifties in his first ten matches. One of his early standout knocks was a blistering 87, including eight sixes, on a turning Rajkot pitch against Saurashtra in the 2015 Ranji Trophy. In 2016, Ishanā€™s breakthrough moment came when he led India at the Under-19 World Cup in Bangladesh where the team ended up being the runners-up.

He had a stellar 2016ā€“17 Ranji Trophy season, where he amassed 799 runs in ten matches at an average above 57. His gritty 273 against Delhi, after Jharkhand slipped to 80 for 4, and a follow-up 136 against Saurashtra highlighted his temperament and skill.

A stellar IPL 2020ā€“21 season in the UAE, where he scored 516 runs for Mumbai Indians in a title-winning campaign, fast-tracked his entry into the national side. He made his T20I debut against England in 2021 and followed it with an ODI debut in Sri Lanka. His career-defining moment arrived in 2022 when he smashed a double century against Bangladesh. He continued to deliver impactful innings, including a crucial 82 against Pakistan in the 2023 Asia Cup, and earned a place in Indiaā€™s 2023 World Cup squad. Ishan Kishan remains one of Indiaā€™s most exciting contemporary batting talents.
